Q  What are the contributing factors to a sensitised skin?

A   Environmental factors contributing towards having a sensitised skin include the sun, pollution and cold weather and low humidity. Other factors include aging, ingredients, lifestyle and over-cleansing. 
 
Q What are the major causes of premature ageing?

A   The sun
      Smoking
      Lack of exercise and poor diet
      Exposure to the elements such as cold winds and low temperatures
      Lack of sleep/stress

Q What is a blackhead?  

A   Blackheads are whiteheads that have reached the skin’s surface and opened, allowing oxygen to finally enter the follicle. This causes the oil and dead skin cells within the follicle to undergo a chemical reaction known as oxidation, leading to the dark color. The belief that a blackhead is dirt feeds another myth about oily and acneic skin- that it’s not clean or is not being properly cleaned.  

Q Does sunscreen increase oil production and feed acne?

A    Some sunscreens can make skin feel greasier and can clog pores. However, there are new sophisticated products which provide skin protection, as well as skin care benefits.
